Individual training sessions can take place in your own home or wherever a problem is occuring. Specific issues that often require one to one help include:

-new puppy issues (such as housetraining, mouthing and crate training)
-loose lead walking
-recall
-stays, leaves, drop its plus other common basic skills
-self control/hyperactivity
-stealing food or other objects
-jumping up
-hunting drives
-managing multiple dog households

Any issues involving aggression or fear/anxiety related problems require behaviour help- please see the behaviour consultations page.

Sessions cost £25 per hour plus 30p per mile for return journeys over 10 miles. For example city centre lessons will add around £3 to the hourly rate plus parking charges where applicable.

Or book a 5 lesson package for £100 plus travel. Lessons must be used within 3 months.

Typical basic skills covered for puppies and adults: sit, lie down, stay, recall, loose lead walking, leave, self control, grooming and handling and appropriate greetings. You will also receive advice on toilet training, puppy mouthing, crate training, socialisation and lots more depending on your individual requirements. Each session lasts around an hour and includes handouts. There is a fun and informal test at the end of the course. This is a set curriculum covering all basic training skills. Specific issues require individual lessons.

The 5 week package costs £80. Limited to areas within 5 miles of Balerno/Kirknewton. Courses outwith this area will be charged at standard 5 lesson package rates.

Availability for all training tends to be Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays with the odd evening appointment if necessary.
