Edinburgh Dog Training School

At Edinburgh Dog Training we offer a variety of training options for all dogs. Please see the individual pages for further information on 1-2-1 training, classes and workshops. Over the course of 2012 we will be putting together a wide range of classes and workshops that will be the first of its kind seen in the capital. All lessons are taught using reward based methods that create kind and effective learning and strengthens the relationship between dog and owner. We are firmly committed to using kind and effective training methods. We do not allow any type of aversive such as a choke chain, prong collar, water spray or rattle bottle to be used and clients are not permitted to use any sort of physical punishment such as lead jerks, smacks or pin downs. Training should be fun and rewarding for both you and your dog. Classes are run by Joanne with the assistance of Jenny, a qualified vet nurse and dog training enthusiast.

***SPECIAL OFFER: BRING US YOUR OLD CHOKE CHAIN, PRONG COLLAR OR SHOCK COLLAR AND EXCHANGE IT FOR A FREE ONE HOUR TRAINING SESSION***

No matter why you've used the collar – whether your dog pulls on the lead, attacks other dogs or likes to go hunting – find out how to get better results without them. Get into our way of dog training for one hour, discuss your views, ask any questions you have and see for yourself that causing pain or discomfort isn't necessary.

Nutrition Consultations

Deciding what dog food to choose can be a minefield. Adverts often give misleading claims about their products and companies with large marketing budgets often have the most presence in the market but actually offer some of the poorest quality foods. Aside to that each dog is an individual and what suits one may not suit another.

If you are having problems with any aspect of your dogs' diet then a nutrition review may be the answer. I can provide dietary advice to improve health, behaviour and/or bowel movements.

Or you may be about to get a new dog or puppy and want to know the best foods to give them throughout their lives.

The review Includes a dry, wet or raw food diet analysis, health check plus a new diet programme. It also includes continuing support and advice for as long as you own your dog.

This option is often requested for dogs with dull coats, flaky skin, itchy skin, loose stools, colitis, hyperactivity, lethargy, fussiness and a range of other health issues. Please note that a diet review is not an alternative to a vet check up and I do not diagnose medical conditions or advise treatment.

Cost of service: £15
