Various workshops on training and behaviour issues are being planned for 2012. Most of these workshops will be run in association with Just Dogs shop in Stockbridge, Edinburgh. All will take place at Currie Community Centre unless stated otherwise. If you are part of dog club or have a group of dog owning friends and would like your own private workshop please get in touch. We have venues in Kirknewton, Currie and Stockbridge.

The cost of 3 hour workshops is £30 for handlers and £10 for spectators. Minimum of 4 and maximum of 8 handlers. Loose lead walking and recall workshops consist of theory and practical work and you will be training both indoors and outdoors. Clicker training workshops are all inside. As with all our training everything we teach uses kind and gentle yet effective reward based methods!

Upcoming Saturday workshops:

Clicker training: Feb 11th and March 31st (10am-1pm)

If you want to get started with clicker training and don't know where to start then this 3 hour workshop will show you why clicker training works, how to use the clicker and also how much fun it is for both you and your dog. Great for beginners but also good for those with a little previous experience who want to improve their clicker skills or maybe try a bit of freeshaping.

Loose lead walking: Feb 18th and April 14th (10am-1pm)

Does your dog pull you along like a train? Is your arm being pulled out of its socket as your dog crosses back and forth in front of you nose to the ground? Whatever the reason if you need help to get your dog to be more manageable on the lead then this workshop is for you. There is no magic wand and training takes time and patience but we can show you a variety of simple methods along with helpful equipment to make walks more enjoyable.

Recall: March 17th and May 12th (10am-1pm)

If your dog pays no attention to you when off the lead and wont come back when called then you need this workshop! Whether your dog is distracted by other dogs and people, has a high hunting drive and goes off after rabbits or simply is being a bit lazy about coming back straight away then we can help. Like all training there is no magic wand but there are so many easy ways to make coming back to you more fun and thus more reliable.
